DR Congo's Self Claimed Prophet Arrested After Shoot Out

Police in DR Congo's capital Kinshasa have arrested the self claimed 'prophet' who is the leader of Bundu Dia Kongo, an outlawed group which has a mission to restore the ancient Kongo kingdom.

The arrest came a week after a deadly shoot out that led to the deaths of at least 20 people in Kongo Central province.

The Bundu Dia Kongo movement has recently geared up campaigns in parts of Congo-Brazzaville, DR Congo, Gabon and Angola calling for the restoration of a monarchy.

The movement has been calling for people whose ethnicity is not of the Bakongo to vacate the  Kongo Central Province. By arresting the 'prophet', police have taken a big step in preventing future etnic clashes.
